Too good to be true: counterfeit cosmetics!

So my boyfriend told me yesterday about something he had watched on T.V lately and I didn't actually start paying attention until he mentioned MAC.
What he was telling me was that the show was about investigations into people selling counterfeiter cosmetics.
I already knew that this was rife. Everywhere.
But what he said next really shocked me.
These counterfeit cosmetics contained chemicals such as mercury!
Now I'm no chemistry whizz but I know mercury is extremely harmful!

Where are these counterfeit good being sold?
EVERYWHERE!
From markets to ebay!
As a rule I only buy cosmetics from places where I can be sure they are 100% authentic.
However I do own a 'MAC' eyeliner that I know is counterfeit so it went straight in the bin as soon as I saw the program!

In future, please remember that if something like this seems to good to be true. It probably is!
I now actively avoid buying products on ebay being sold under 'buy it now' and exercise caution when bidding on items which appear to be genuine (i.e. someone bought the wrong shade and is selling it so it wasn't a complete waste of money).

Ebay Buys!

Over the last few months I have developed an unhealthy addiction to ebay!

There are some great bargains to be had and I'm taking full advantage!

I thought that I'd share with you some things I've recently bought and what I'm looking at purchasing soon!

First up is this beauty blender dupe.

For £1.29 and free delivery it was a great bargain!

It did take a while to arrive as it was posted from Hong Kong but it's an excellent sponge and great if you don't want to spend £16 on a sponge!

Yesterday I ordered this dipped hem skirt in coral.

It costs £6.49 and £2.99 delivery.

It has yet to arrive (but as I said I only bought it yesterday eager beaver!) but it looks great and super cheap too!

I has this MAC duo fibre stippling brush bought for me for 99p with £3.99 p&p.

Obviously It isn't genuine MAC but it a decent brush for a fiver.

(It is no longer listed but I'm sure there's loads if you do a search on ebay!)

I'm contemplating purchasing this Jemma Kidd Make-up school concealer.

Its being sold for £3.95 and £2.00 p&p.

I've tried a few other bits of Jemma Kidd make up and haven't been overly impressed with it. I'm trying to refrain from buying any more make up but this could find it's way through my post box soon!

Another thing I've got my eye on is this lovely floral dipped hem dress. 

I haven't bought it yet as I don't think it will suit my body shape as it is. I'm going to the gym and starting to eat healthier so hopefully I'll buy it soon!

Rant : ebay

At the moment I'm really pissed off!
So this post is not beauty related but instead I need to vent!

I sell bits and bobs on ebay occasionally (mainly nail polish) just to make a few quid here and there so I can treat myself to some more expensive make up bits.

I recently sold an item to a fellow ebay and shipped it 2 days later.
A week later I was left a message claiming that the item had not arrived even though they had paid 2 weeks back.
This was a blatant lie, but to be civil and polite I offered to negotiate some sort of compensation with them in a week's time if they still had not received the item.

The next day I received a message from a different ebayer telling me they had had the exact same issue with this buyer and so had 3 other ebayers.

I heard no more from the buyer but exchanged a few messages about what to do next with the other seller.

This was about 3 and a half weeks ago and about an hour ago I received a message from ebay informing me that the buyer had opened a case against me.

They had stated that there had been no communication what so ever and had no received their product.
I was so shocked at the audacity of them to lie and say that I had not been in contact.

This has just made me pretty angry. I clearly stated that once I had posted the parcel it was not my responsibility, because quite frankly it isn't. The item cost £5, I am not going to send it recorded delivery (that's not what they paid for) and I am not going to personally escort the post man to ensure a safe delivery.

Now if they honestly haven't received the item then that is very unfortunate, but not my fault.
I have a big feeling that this person is scamming me and others on ebay. Its just my gut instinct,

I have 100% feedback and theirs is 90%.
I just don't see how people can get away with this.

Do you sell on ebay? Have you had a similar experience?
If you have the I really appreciate any tips on how to deal with this matter.
