My 'IT' bag for Autumn 2012!

Now that Autumn is finally here I am all over faux leather and studs!

So the Hunt for the perfect bag this season commenced!

I had my heart set on the Zara Bucket bag and was considering adding a few studs to it, but it's sold out everywhere so I had to look for something better!

On a trip to Matalan I found this beauty!

At only £16 it snatched it up!

It's the perfect size for me as it fits my uni notebooks in and all the crap I carry around with plenty of space to spare.

The studs are gold but the buckle has a slight rose gold tint to it.

The strap is brilliant as it's about 2 inches wide which means it doesn't cut into my shoulder when the bag is heavy.

The strap isn't ajustable which is one down side but it falls at my waist (which I thought was a strange length at first) but I find it really comfy to wear that length.

The ends are also studded to which I think makes it look far more expensive that £16.

The bag also has a zip fastening under the top flap which makes it extra secure.

Autumn Colours: My trend picks

I love love love Autumn (and you're probably going to see A LOT of Autumn related posts from me in the near future).

I love the weather of Autumn, the fashion and the colours!

So today I'm going to talk about my favourite colours for Autumn 

(which also happen to be pretty in style right now!)

Maroon

I will be wearing a lot of maroon - as my alternative to black - it goes well with all of the other colours in my autumn palette!

Navy & Royal Blue

Having light coloured skin and blonde hair I think any shade of blue always looks nice on me and I can't wait to fill my wardrobe up with pieces in these lovely jewel tones.

Mustard

I never usually go for and shade of yellow but I've taken the plunge this year and can't wait to start experimenting with this colour as I just find it so interesting.

Khaki

I'm a huge fan of green and think plain khaki clothes are a great way to wear this season's military trend for those of us who are a bit shy of full on camo!

Grey

My neutral colour for the season. Last year I wore a lot of brown but I'm preferring grey right now because it's lighter and works well with the next colour.

Pale Pink

This colour is great for some girlyness and is autumn's answer to summer's nude. I've got my eye on a pale pink cable knit jumper that I think will look so cute with grey trousers!

How I Organise My Wardrobe.

How is everyone today?

The post I have for you today is all about how I keep my clothes and shoes in order and how I arrange my wardrobe.

I am a bit of a neat freak and am a firm believer in clearing out your wardrobe at the beginning of each season.

So now that Autumn is approaching and I've purchased some new clothes I've had a clear out of my wardrobe and produced a new organising system (and a big bag for the charity shop!).

I'm going to talk you through the sections of my wardrobe as well as sharing a few tips I've always used!

First off I section my clothes into bottoms and tops.

Then the main way I organise my clothes is by Colour.

I'm super picky and have my clothes hung in order of the colour spectrum.

This is just super picky of me and it's not necessary to arrange your clothes like this in order to be organised.

I also keep my 'going out' dresses to the side as it's easier to have a part of my wardrobe I can go straight too when I'm looking for something a bit more special.

At the end of my Wardrobe I hang my belts on this belt organiser from Primark.

I hate rolling belts up in drawers as it's just so easy for them to become messy. This way of hanging also allows me to see all of the belts I have.

At the bottom of my wardrobe I store my shoes and gym clothes.

On the top I always keep my shoes on the right and swap the box on the left seasonally.

In Autumn and Winter I keep my boots on the top shelf and sandals underneath, however during Spring and Summer I rotate these for ease.

I store my gym wear in a basket at the bottom of my wardrobe as its so easy just to slide the basket out and grab what I need.

I tie and elastic band around all of my pairs of sandals.

This makes it so easy to grab a pair and I'm not hunting around for a pair of shoes in a box of madness.

Separate from my wardrobe I have a set of draws for everything else.

Two drawers are dedicated to out of season clothes.

 (The other has heavy knit jumpers)

When I organise my wardrobe at the change of the season the clothes which I am 99% sure I wont be wearing are folded away into a drawer.

It is also just as efficient to store them in a suitcase or under the bed.

And finally my scarves and bandeaus are folded and rolled into a smaller drawer.

I prefer to roll my scarves and its a lot easier to end up with an untidy drawer if they are folded.

It is also really easy to see what I have and grab it quickly.

The way I have my clothes and shoes organised works really well for me and it has taken me a while to find the perfect organisation solution.

A few tips I have for you guys are:

Keep trying to find your solution

Like I said it's taken me a while to perfect my organisation but this system works really well for me as it's easy to keep neat and see what I have.

Clear out!

I clear out at the beginning of each season.

If I didn't wear an item in the previous season then I generally get rid of it unless there is a reason (for example a sun dress during a rainy summer).

Items which can transition through seasons are always in my wardrobe and those which are season specific get sorted into a drawer.

Make the time

If you always find your self throwing clothes into the wardrobe and spending hours clearing out every few months then consider taking 30 seconds more to hang and organise your clothes.

Not only will it make that big clear out quicker but it will also speed up getting ready in the morning.

Only keep what you wear

The obvious exception to this rule is important and memorable clothes.

I still have a bridesmaids dress from when I was 3. Obviously I never wear it but it's important to me.

However that ill fitting jumper and too small pair of jeans can go!

Ebay Buys!

Over the last few months I have developed an unhealthy addiction to ebay!

There are some great bargains to be had and I'm taking full advantage!

I thought that I'd share with you some things I've recently bought and what I'm looking at purchasing soon!

First up is this beauty blender dupe.

For £1.29 and free delivery it was a great bargain!

It did take a while to arrive as it was posted from Hong Kong but it's an excellent sponge and great if you don't want to spend £16 on a sponge!

Yesterday I ordered this dipped hem skirt in coral.

It costs £6.49 and £2.99 delivery.

It has yet to arrive (but as I said I only bought it yesterday eager beaver!) but it looks great and super cheap too!

I has this MAC duo fibre stippling brush bought for me for 99p with £3.99 p&p.

Obviously It isn't genuine MAC but it a decent brush for a fiver.

(It is no longer listed but I'm sure there's loads if you do a search on ebay!)

I'm contemplating purchasing this Jemma Kidd Make-up school concealer.

Its being sold for £3.95 and £2.00 p&p.

I've tried a few other bits of Jemma Kidd make up and haven't been overly impressed with it. I'm trying to refrain from buying any more make up but this could find it's way through my post box soon!

Another thing I've got my eye on is this lovely floral dipped hem dress. 

I haven't bought it yet as I don't think it will suit my body shape as it is. I'm going to the gym and starting to eat healthier so hopefully I'll buy it soon!

Well yes they are fashionable, but when talking about STYLE (and there is a difference) in my opinion, the tittle has to go to:

The Queen of England

Now you may think my brain has melted in the heat but bear with me.

She always looks elegant, poised and most importantly comfortable.

She may be in her 80's but the woman knows how to dress.

yes she has an army of style soldiers and all the money you could want but watch a few royalist documentaries and you would be surprised.

The Queen looks good in every colour. 

She knows how to dress for her age, shape, complexion and the occasion.

Today ladies, I am going to share with you her cheap as chips style tip.

Have you ever had a Marilyn moment?

You know? Dress goes up in the wind and your knickers are on show to everyone?

It may be one of the most iconic pictures ever but I prefer for my hemline to hang where it should be.

How does The Queen avoid such fashion faux pas?

Curtain weights.

Yes you read correctly.

Recently the Queen's courtier (stylist to you and I) revealed that the queen avoids these little slip ups by having curtain weights sewn into her hemline.

Not only does it avoid the wind carrying your skirt up to your ears but it helps your clothes to sit on your body in a nicer way.

1979 was the last time this happened for the Queen.

When was the last time it happened to you?

So ladies, head down to you local haberdasheries (or ebay) and spend a few pounds to spare your dignity!

Curtain weights come in a variety of sizes and are super easy just to sew onto your hem line.

Or if you're a bit nifty with a sewing machine why not pick up a weighted string (also for curtains) and sew that the entire way around your skirt?

Lets talk about : Kiddie Fashion

I'm a big fan of the Kardashians, I watch all their shows and lust after their style and make-up artisits!

Some of the clothes they sport are to die for! 

And it's all thanks to their stylist Monica Rose.

Recently Monica Rose's 2 year old daughter Alaia Rose Barbier has been styled to within an inch of her life by her Mum!

Now when I first saw these images I was a bit sceptical. Why would you dress your daughter to the height of fashion when she should be playing and getting dirty?

But after a little bit of thought, I figured, she looks cute, the clothes don't look uncomfortable or restricting and it's a heck of a lot better than what some women dress their kids in!

I mean Toddlers and Tiara's anyone?

I actually think that little Alaia looks adorable!

Personally if and when I am blessed with children I don't think their wardrobe will be full of designer clothes which resemble the latest collections. However I do want them to look good.

This is actually a topic my long term boyfriend and I have discussed (after the convo about actually having kids!). 

We both feel that for every day romper suits and simple clothes are the way forward but for nicer affairs, our children are going to have nicer clothes, for special and safe keeping.

These will be the clothes we keep for them to pass onto their children,

I love the look with the leopard print coat and hope that my kids look just as lovely and cute in their special clothes!

Primark haul!

I love Primark hauls! It's amazing what you can get in Primark sometimes! I find that unless you look for something specifically you can miss some real gems, and this is where these posts come in handy!

First off is some mint green pumps. I have 2 other pairs of these and they are so comfy! They do wear down quite quick, which I don't mind for my nude pair but I'm going to try and keep these in a good shape!

You can never have enough vests! I love these stretch vests and already have a white one and a purple one. I picked up a lemon colour and a deep coral.

Recently Primark beauty and acssesories have really been catching my eye! I picked up this duo fibre hair brush for £2, the nail file (and case) were just £1 and the clips were £1.50

I love the little case with this nail file and is super handy to slip into my handbag!

Primark are now carrying the Angelica range of nail polish and today these two caught my eye.
